New Songbook this Fall!

The first edition of our new family songbook series is here! Each song in the Fiddle collection is brought to life through colorful and engaging illustrations by award-winning artist Jaime Kim. The new book will inspire your family to play with music all week long. You’ll find it helpful to learn the lyrics, as a jumping-off point for creative storytelling, and to learn more about the songs you’re singing in class. Your child may enjoy snuggling with you and singing through the whole book at once – or opening to a page to tell you what song they want to sing!

Still Room in our SE Classes, Our Evening Class and Cochrane Class

But don’t fret we have space in our SE classes on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings as well as our Cochrane class on Friday mornings. And plenty of Space in our Monday Evening Class.

Registration is still on for a few more weeks and Classes will begin the week of

In the upcoming song collection, families will play with their voices by mimicking the sounds of instruments in the “French Folk Song,” and Spanish-speaking animals in “De Colores.” (Did you know that in Spanish, roosters say “Quiri-quiri quiri” to wake people up?) Making funny animal sounds, lip-burring, and other tonal play helps children explore their vocal register, discover their singing voices and distinguish them from their speaking voices. And since children learn from contrasts and by expressing music with their full bodies, you’ll be hopping lightly like birds and sliding smoothly like an iceskater. You’ll have so much fun you won’t even notice that you’re learning staccato and legato! In addition to your weekly classes, your tuition includes recordings and materials for you to use at home, including access to the songs through the Hello Everybody app. Join the Winter session and play, sing, laugh and learn with families in your community.

Rhythm Kids

We are so excited to be accepted as a Pilot Program for

Rhythm Kids Level 2 is an exciting music, movement, and drumming class for children in Kindergarten through second grade (ages 5 through 8) to attend with or without a parent or another adult. We would also consider allowing a 5-year-old who has not yet started kindergarten to participate in Rhythm Kids as long as an adult attended with him or her. Children integrate and assimilate rhythm into their lives, as they:
• learn multicultural drumming patterns;
• develop new repertoire on various percussion instruments;
• explore movement and dance while singing songs;
• play games based on music and drumming;
• have fun with a host of rhythm activities.
Rhythm Kids follows through on the Music Together® vision to help children complete the pathway of early childhood music development from birth through age 8. As part of the Rhythm Kids experience, children and their grownups can enjoy drumming play and practice sessions at home with the help of online play-along videos featuring Rhythm Kids creator Tom Foote.
Classes are for children K–2 (ages 5 through 8) and include:
• 10 weekly, 45-minute classes
• Animal Collection Songbook and CDs (2 copies) each semester
• Access to online video tutorials and play-alongs
Children will:
• Learn, create, discover and explore music, movement and drumming
• Enjoy age-appropriate ways to play rhythm instruments (shakers, tambourines, etc.)
• Explore traditional drumming patterns through animal names and movements
• Experience drumming, song, and dance from around the world (Mali, Puerto Rico, Turkey, etc.)
• Find new ways to connect mind, body, and voice through rhythm
• Develop skill in improvising, soloing, conducting, composition, and improvisation
• Participate in active musical games that are both enriching and totally fun!
This is an instrument-learning class, so your child will need a drum.
